Cosmos Gear Intelligence
A source-linked evidence database for pickleball equipment. Version 2 tracks 50 paddles across 10 brands — without pretending desk research is physical testing.
Find the evidence record.
Search by model or brand, then filter by price, approval evidence and evidence confidence. Prices and availability are dated observations, not promises of current inventory.

Source links are part of the record. Manufacturer swing weight and twist weight remain manufacturer measurements when that is where the number came from. A blank field means we did not have sufficiently clean evidence to populate it.
What the first 50 records already show
Approval has to be variant-specific.
Paddletek's current Honeyfoam pages explicitly distinguish 14mm variants that are UPA-approved but exceed the power threshold for USA Pickleball-sanctioned events. Brand-level “approved” language is therefore not enough.
Published measurements are not all independent measurements.
Selkirk, Six Zero, Volair, Franklin and some other manufacturers publish swing-weight or twist-weight figures for selected models. Gear Intelligence stores those numbers as manufacturer data. They do not become Pickleball Cosmos measurements.
Availability is part of the evidence.
Some still-relevant models are currently shown as unavailable by their manufacturer. The database records that state instead of silently treating every model as purchasable.
The evidence stack
| Evidence type | What Cosmos does with it | What it does not become |
|---|---|---|
| Governing records | Track approval, certification and compliance status for the exact model where the record supports it. | A performance endorsement. |
| Manufacturer specifications | Record dimensions, stated weight, construction, materials, price, warranty and manufacturer-published inertia metrics. | An independent measurement. |
| Independent measurements | Future database versions can preserve tester attribution, sample context and method when meaningful comparisons are possible. | A Pickleball Cosmos measurement. |
| Cosmos calculations | Normalize units, compare records and identify contradictions without hiding the inputs. | An opaque composite score. |
| Hands-on testing | Reserved for a future Gear Lab using physical samples and a documented protocol. | Something implied by desk research. |
Evidence confidence
| Label | Meaning | V2 records |
|---|---|---|
| High | The exact or clearly matched model has strong first-party specification evidence plus a governing record or comparably strong verification. | 28 |
| Medium | The record is useful but at least one material element still relies on a manufacturer statement, family-level mapping or an unresolved exact-variant match. | 22 |
| Limited | Reserved for records where a material identity or approval question still needs stronger evidence. | 0 in V2 |
Confidence describes the evidence record, not whether a paddle is good or bad.

What each record can contain
- Exact brand, model, shape and thickness.
- Current price observation, MSRP where available, date checked and availability state.
- USA Pickleball evidence and direct governing-record link where we have an exact match.
- UPA status when the manufacturer or governing record supports it.
- Length, width, handle, grip, manufacturer weight and construction fields.
- Manufacturer-published swing weight and twist weight, explicitly kept separate from independent or Cosmos measurements.
- Warranty terms, evidence confidence, source links and verification notes.

The public CSV is a working evidence dataset, not an assertion that every paddle on the U.S. market has been captured. Prices, availability, approvals and product specifications can change after the check date.

Standards
Gear Intelligence follows the Pickleball Cosmos editorial and gear methodology. The database intentionally leaves fields blank when a clean, appropriately attributed source is not available.
