Corrections policy

Pickleball changes: rules are revised, paddle approvals can change, manufacturers update specifications and better evidence can replace earlier estimates. Our job is to correct the record without disguising material changes.

Factual errors

If a material factual error is identified, we correct the page. When the correction meaningfully changes a reader's understanding, the article's modification date should be updated and the change should not be presented as though the original wording was always correct.

Routine updates

Not every edit is a correction. Updating a current rule reference, warranty term, approval status, participation figure or other time-sensitive fact after the underlying source changes is an editorial update. Material updates should carry an updated verification or modification date where appropriate.

Disputed claims

When credible sources conflict, we do not resolve the disagreement by silently choosing the most convenient number or interpretation. The disagreement, definitions and evidence should be visible to the reader.

Gear and approval status

A paddle's legality or approval status can change. Articles should distinguish historical approval from current approval and should not imply that an old logo, retailer listing or archived manufacturer claim proves current tournament eligibility.

Data revisions

If a primary source revises a dataset, we prefer the corrected source series. We do not preserve an obsolete number merely because an older Pickleball Cosmos article used it.

Submitting a correction

We are building a dedicated public corrections channel. Until it is published, this page documents the standard that applies internally; we will not invent a contact address or submission mechanism that is not actually monitored.
